Gene Farris finally gets to release for hometown label, Vista. "Ashaka" combines funky stabbing keys, snaking bassline, driving beats, and a risqué female vocal on a quality peaktime floor-mover. Miguel Migs lays down a superb dub take next, utilizing great shuffling beats alongside the original synths and vocal, while the bassline ups the tempo a little and swirling effects are added. On the reverse, title track "Decompression" harkens back to Gene's Relief releases, with it's robotic vocal laid over spacey techno synth lines for some percolating late night techno-fueled house.
